My fifth visit to the USA was in 1984, and I went with my friends John Moore, Ray Pallan, and Bernie Keating.

We took a flight into LAX, Los Angeles, California, staying there for around three nights, then we took a hiring a car we drove between Newport Beach to San Francisco, California, taking in sights along the way, we stayed at Motels that we booked as we travelled, before taken a flight to Oahu, Hawaii, spending around seven nights on Oahu, before flying home to the UK.
On this trip we started off in Newport Beach, California, staying with our friends, Phil & Jane. We visited The Queen Mary at Long Beach, Disneyland, Anaheim. And then travelling on to San Diego, California, staying with our friends Ami & Kendall Squires, we visited San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld. After leaving San Diego, we travelled taken in sights as follows, Yuma, Tombstone, The Grand Canyon National Park, Las Vegas Nevada, Yosemite National Park, California, Zion National Park, Utah and Lake Tahoe, Nevada, before driving onto San Francisco, California, to catch our flight to Oahu, Hawaii. Once we were in Hawaii, we stayed at Waikiki, in Oahu, at the "The Hawaiian Lani Condominium" we hired a car while on the island and travelled all over the island, taken in its beauty. There was a pub "The Sherwood Forest" which we used to drink at a couple of years previous, and one of the customers Billy had bought it since we were last there, we spent many of happy hour in there with the locals, getting on great with them. A total memorable vacation.
