USA - 2012. - Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, Virginia. - This morning after breakfast we left our hotel at Roanoke, Virginia, heading towards Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. Today we visited this Historical Park, and the last time I was here was 1978.
The signing of the surrender documents occurred in the parlor of the house owned by Wilmer McLean on the afternoon of April 9, 1865. After leaving Appomattox Court House, we continued towards our hotel Comfort Inn, Williamsburg, Virginia, staying here two nights. Finishing off our day with dinner and a couple of beers.
