The National Railway Museum, York, UK, - 2014.
One morning myself and friend John Moore, (Scona) decided to visit The National Railway Museum at York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. We arrived in York at around 09:35 am and made our way to " The National Railway Museum" which is only around 10 minutes walk from York train station. The Museum opened at 10:00am, as we only had a limited time to spend in the museum, due to the price restrictions on our train ticket.
We did spend around two and a half hours in this fantastic railway museum, it was free entrance, but a donation of £3.00 each was expected and well received, "Well Worth The Donation". It was fantastic looking around here, looking at The Mallard, The Rocket by Sir Nigel Gresley, Shinkansen, Duchess of Hamilton, Class 31, SECR 'D' class No.737, Electric locomotive 26020, King George V, The 'Chinese Engine', Hardwicke, Southern Railway Q1, Evening Star, Bauxite, Driving Wheels, and lots of Railway & Train Memorabilia.
After we came out of The National Railway Museum, we walked along the city walls, we stopped of at Wetherspoons Punch Bowl for lunch and a beer, before making our way back to the train station, to catch our train 2:15pm back to Newcastle. A Fantastic Day Out.
