Wednesday 09/May – 2018.Seahouses & Holy Island/Lindisfarne Island.

Today we were up and having breakfast at 08:30 am, after breakfast we had a short walk to North Sunderland and back again to Seahouses, as this was another beautiful start to the day.

At around 12:00 noon we arrived at Holy Island/Lindisfarne Island, for a look around this beautiful place. We first stopped off at The Window on Wild Lindisfarne Visitors Building, before continuing our walk through the beautiful little village and up past the harbour area, walking up to Lindisfarne Castle (Which Was Covered In Scaffolding & Cover In Tent Like Material, Due To Major Renovation Work), so no photos of the Lindisfarne Castle. We continued our walk up to Pebble Beach and around the Nature Reserve, before arriving back into the village again, stopping off for tea, coffee and sandwiches.

We then continued our journey up to Lindisfarne Priory, and the beautiful Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, after this it was off to our car, for a trip back over the causeway, heading back to Seahouses, and stopping off in Bamburgh, for a great vantage point for some excellent photos of Bamburgh Castle. We had dinner in our hotel The Bamburgh Castle Inn, before going out for a few beers around Seahouses, and end to a great day out up on The Northumberland Coast.
