Thursday 19/September – 2019. Steel Rigg and Crag Lough Walk, Northumberland, UK.
Old Lads & Lasses Weekly Walk, With John McNally, Maureen & John Finlay.
We had a great walk today on the “Steel Rigg and Crag Lough Walk”. Some fantastic views on this walk, one of the most iconic features in the Northumbrian landscape, the cliff face of Steel Rigg shows how the Romans incorporated this natural phenomenon into their defences against the barbarians.
Although it started as a grey and overcast day, by lunchtime we had some great weather, blue sky’s & white fluffy clouds. It took us around “Two & Half Hours” for this walk, with its breath-taking views. Once we finished the walk, it was back to the car, and back home, for coffee & biscuits at Maureen & Johns Home. Just to think around 36 miles from my home, there are some beautiful places to visit, in Northumberland. I always take my little Panasonic Lumix TZ40 Camera with me on these weekly walks.
