Friday 06/November - 2015. Saltwell Park, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, UK - 2015.
As myself and friends did not get out this week for our weekly walk, due to bad weather.
I had heard on the local news, that at Saltwell Park, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, that they were to host the North of England's only Field of Remembrance to honour the Service men and women who fought and died for their country. There was thousands of wooden crosses that bear personal messages from members of the public. I visited Saltwell Park, looking at The Field of Remembrance was very moving. This was set in the beautiful Victorian Park, here in Gateshead "Saltwell Park".
I also visited The Angel of The North here in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, a fantastic steel sculpture of an angel, 20 metres tall, with wings measuring 54 metres across, which was completed in 1998. I then drove over to Lobley Hill still here in Gateshead, to Watergate Country Park, having a nice little walk around this beautiful country park.
Getting some moving and good images from the 3 places I visited on Friday 06/November - 2015.Just to think, only about 5 miles from my home I can be into some beautiful countryside, within around a 15 minute drive.
