Thursday 10 July - 2014. Tynemouth To Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, UK - 2014.
When we were young kids, we used to look forward to the street trips to the coast. As someone in our street while living at Whickham, used to organise a bus and we had a trip to what we used to call the seaside. It was always a fantastic and eventful day, one of the places we visited was Tynemouth. We had a great time playing on the long sands, plodging & paddling in the North Sea. There was numerous places we could go to at the seaside and we looked forward to these day trips.
Fast forward to July 2014, myself and my friend John Moore walked from Tynemouth to Whitley Bay passing Cullercoats along the way, we stopped off for lunch at The Fire Station, which is a J D Wetherspoons Pub, in Whitley Bay.
A nice morning out walking from Tynemouth, passing The Priory & Castle, then along past the quaint little village of Cullercoats, and into Whitley Bay, where there is lots of restoration going on, around The Old Spanish City. We have some beautiful little seaside villages up and around the North East Coast of The UK. Just to think, only about 12 miles from my home I can be into some beautiful countryside, within around a 37 minute drive.
