Bowes Railway, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, UK - 2019.
I decided it was about time I would go and visit Bowes Railway.
This fantastic day out to a beautiful, well kept, Museum/Bowes Railway.
The Bowes Railway, built by George Stephenson in 1826, is the world's only operational preserved standard gauge cable railway system. It was built to transport coal from pits in Durham to boats on the River Tyne.
The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
It is only around 15 minutes from my house.
