Saturday 15/July – 2017. Keswick, Cumbria, UK - 2017.
As part of our weekly walks myself, and friends, Ray Pallan, Anne McVeigh, John Finlay, Maureen Finlay, & John Moore, had arranged an extra walk this week to The Lake District. As in Winlaton, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, there is an organised day outing by coach, organised by a local group/organisation, this is on every year.
So we applied for 6 seats and joined the lovely local like-minded people, for a great day out in Keswick, Cumbria. We spent around 5 hours here walking on a round trip route on this beautiful walk within The Lake District. We walked around Lake Derwentwater, which is only a short walk (10 Minutes) outside of Keswick. We had little showers and drizzle, off and on all day, we stopped off part of the way around for a short break, having our sandwiches, then later on at The Mary Mount, for tea/coffee/lager and light snacks.
The total round trip took us from 11:00 am To 4:00 pm, that was around 10 mile, after finishing the walk, we headed for Wetherspoons in Keswick for beer (I Had 1 Pint & Half Of Stella), my friends had a selection of different food from the menu, “And They Did Not Like It”.
We left Keswick by coach at 6:00 pm, arriving back in Winlaton, Gateshead Tyne & Wear at 8:30 pm. My legs were killing me, the pain was cramping my legs up by the time I got home, (As I Should Of Known Better, As I Have Problems With My Knee & Hip). I always take my little Lumix camera with me, just to record our walks by taken photos while on the move. Just to think, only about 91 miles from my home I can be into some beautiful countryside, in The Lake District, within around a 2 hour’s drive.
