006- Peru Tour 2017.
Saturday 14 October – 2017. Machu Picchu, Peru.
Early start this morning, up shower, breakfast then bus to train station, then train to village of Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes.
A short walk from train station to bus stop then we took local bus up to the actual site of Machu Picchu, unbelievable to see, although we had only 2 & half hours to view this before the heavens opened, for over 16 hours.
Machu Picchu is an Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, above the Urubamba River valley. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned. We got some great photos, but soaking while awaiting bus back into the village of Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes.
Our friends Chris, Fanny and David, actually did the 9 mile Inca Trail Hike, and as we were just going down for dinner at our hotel that evening, they arrived back at the hotel = “WOW 3 Great Guys” We had a great dinner followed by some beers.
Our Sixth Day Here In Peru Was Tiring But Another Great Day On This Tour.
